Progress Update: Fish Coming To Stockwell Pond!

By July 6, 2016 No Comments

Something special about summers as a kid is being able to spread your wings and roam around your neighborhood, discovering special spots within the community, new plants, streams, grassy hills, and maybe even catching a fish or two. We remember fishing when we were younger, and can’t help but notice all the kiddos and their parents grabbing their poles and heading out to our current lakes and tributaries to do the same. As you know, Hazel, Parkview and Hawthorne, our latest neighborhoods at Light Farms, are well underway with landscaping, and part of this beautiful landscape includes a neighborhood entry park called Mill Park, which will feature Stockwell Pond (it’s very early stages seen in the picture above), and we are happy to say: it will be stocked! We will be stocking the pond with bluegill and perch for catch-and-release fishing, so there’s one more spot in the community to take a cooler, your kiddos or buddies, some snacks and your poles to do some serious relaxing. Mill Park will also feature a wind turbine – as both a functional source of energy and a sculptural art piece – and plenty of open space for running, playing, or an impromptu game of catch.

To top it off, Hazel, Parkview and Hawthorne will house a lake system featuring six lakes, each of which is larger than our current largest lake. All in all, we are adding another 25 acres of lakes and 23 acres of parks and green space to complement our currently existing 132 acres.

Our new park systems are all centered around the idea of bringing our residents closer together as families and as neighbors, and to enjoy an active, outdoor lifestyle which has always been an important theme of Light Farms. And remember, you can always keep informed and stay up to date with our neighborhood and community progress by visiting lightfarmstx.com/progress.
