Progress Update: Park Systems in Our New Hazel, Parkview & Hawthorne Neighborhoods!

By June 6, 2016 No Comments

Hazel, Parkview and Hawthorne, our latest neighborhoods at Light Farms, are well underway. In addition to an exciting new list of builders and breaking ground on 282 new lots that will eventually be beautiful homes, the entire system of neighborhoods is now fully paved, with the next phase – landscaping – beginning and on target for an end of Summer completion! The landscape will consist of beautiful lakes, parks, trees, native plants and green space for you & your family to explore.

Above you can see renderings of our three main parks (clockwise from top left), including a neighborhood entry park called Mill Park, which will include a wind turbine – as both a functional source of energy and a sculptural art piece – and plenty of open space, as well as Stockwell Pond, stocked with bluegill and perch for fishing! In the middle of our Hazel neighborhood will be Almanac Park, which will have a spiral wooden feature that can be used for seating and play, winding pathways and native landscape, trees and shrubs. There will also be a beautiful esplanade on Parkview Drive called Greenway Park, which will include tree-lined walking paths, shaded benches, open green space with seating areas for residents and beautiful native landscape. Many of these trees have already been planted, and upon completion, will have cool color-changing uplighting!

To top it off, Hazel, Parkview and Hawthorne will house a lake system featuring six lakes, each of which is larger than our current largest lake. All in all, we are adding another 25 acres of lakes and 23 acres of parks and green space to complement our currently existing 132 acres. And as you’ve probably read about, we’re also extending our current hike & bike trail system all the way to Frontier Park, adding more mileage for our residents to stay active and enjoy the outdoors.

Our new park systems are all centered around the idea of bringing our residents closer together as families and as neighbors, and to enjoy an active, outdoor lifestyle which has always been an important theme of Light Farms.
