Some days a full trip to the grocery store can seem like too much hassle, but why spend more than you need to on take out? Luckily, The Farm Stand Market can fill the gap! Open to the public and located in Light Farms, The Farm Stand’s market is stocked full of just about everything you need for a quick and wholesome meal right at home. If you haven’t already taken advantage of the market section of The Farm Stand, their team came up with a few ideas to get you started:
Korean-Style Chicken Wings
This is a super simple and easy dish to throw together! It only requires two ingredients, and packs a ton of great flavor. Pick up a bag of Cartermere Farms Chicken Wings from the frozen section and once thawed, you can marinade or throw it straight on the grill. Toss it in Gochujang Sauce after cooking and you’ll have a tasty spin on Korean wings.
Smoked Chili
Great on its own or dress it up with cornbread! Stop in at the The Farm Stand and gather up your ingredients: 1 can each Jack’s Cannellini and Black Beans, 1 can Pacific Foods Organic Chicken Stock, Simply Organic Smoked Paprika, Frontier Bay Leaves, 1 can diced tomatoes, and 1 jar Mrs. Renfro Salsa. From the fresh produce sections grab 1 stalk of celery, 1 head of garlic, 1 onion, and 1 bunch of carrots. Chop 1 cup of celery, onion and carrots and mince garlic, then saute in some olive oil until they begin to soften, about 5 minutes. Add the chicken stock and all other pantry items and simmer for 20 minutes, or until all vegetables are cooked through. Adjust seasonings as desired and you’re done!
Sweet Basil and Roasted Garlic Pasta
With a box of De Cecco Fettuccine, a jar of Dave’s Roasted Garlic and Sweet Basil Red Sauce, and a pound of ground beef from 44 Farms, you can have a stress-free and hearty dinner in no time. Boil pasta according to package instructions while browning ground beef in a high-walled skillet. Drain fat from browned beef and add pasta sauce, simmering to warm throughout. Top the cooked, drained pasta with the meat sauce and serve!
These are just some of the meals that can be pulled together from ingredients found at the Farm Stand Market, located at 1230 Homestead Ct. Next time you’re stuck for a meal idea, check out the market for inspiration!
