One of the North Texas’ largest master-planned communities — Light Farms — will get a major multimillion-dollar addition to the $1.2 billion master-planned community in Celina.
The community’s developer, Dallas-based Republic Property Group, has donated $2 million to Prosper Independent School District to help support the education of the school district’s students, which include residents in Light Farms.
In turn, Prosper ISD is readying to break ground on a multimillion-dollar school, Light Farms Elementary, on May 27, which will help propel the success of the moderately priced master-planned community.
The education component at Light Farms was one of the most important investments Republic Property could make in the community, said Tony Ruggeri, co-president of the Dallas-based development group.
Since 1967, the developer has donated more than $9.4 million to educational causes, such as the new elementary school at Light Farms.
