Man, camping can be intense. Get it?! In… tents? Okay okay, we know that’s cheesy. But there is nothing cheesy about the 5 campsites coming to Constellation Park.
When we were little, going camping used to be a pretty big undertaking. Dad had to get the camping gear out of the garage, coolers had to be packed, the car had to be loaded up and then a few hours were spent in the car trying not to fight with siblings. Well, we’ve cut the long road trip out of the equation… and, it’s almost a rite of passage for kiddos to first camp in their own backyard, right? We’ve kinda combined the two!
The campsites will be located on the east side of Light Farms Way, just north of the lake. All sites are primitive: 3 will feature a concrete slab and grill, and 2 will have a simple tent setup spot and fire pit. You’ll access these campsites by parking in the lot north of Constellation Park, grabbing your gear and walking down a concrete path, over a bridge and you’ll hit the first site. A nature trail will take you to the other 4. There will be no water or electric hook ups, so this is the real deal, folks! Bathroom access will be located a short walk down, at the pavilion. Estimated completion is end of year.
So, practice your s’more-making skills and brush off those hiking boots… you’ll soon be camping in your own backyard – literally! Stay tuned for more details as they come, as well as timing of completion!
