Hazel, Parkview and Hawthorne, our latest neighborhoods at Light Farms, are moving quick with paving completed and landscape well on its way. In this latest flyover image (taken from The Barn Yard looking west toward Dallas Parkway) you can see all the Highland and American Legend homes being built in our Hawthorne neighborhood, and other model homes nearing completion toward the right of the picture in our Hazel and Parkview neighborhoods! While homes are a super important part of what we do, possibly one of our favorite stages of neighborhood crafting is the landscape stage. You may have seen the Gold’s crew installing native plants at the entrances of our newest neighborhoods, Hazel, Parkview and Hawthorne along Light Farms Way.
The construction debris is finally cleared away, fresh soil is laid down, and native plants such as weeping love grass are meticulously placed – tucked into curves of the street and along sidewalks. Neighborhood entry signs made of reclaimed wood gain additions such as cat tail reed grass and evergreens that create beautiful texture and movement. These are the finishing touches that bring the neighborhoods to life.
The landscape in these three neighborhoods will also consist of beautiful parks, trees, plants and open green space for you & your family to explore. We’ll also have a stocked pond for catch-and-release fishing, sculptural features for seating and play throughout our parks, and a beautiful tree-lined esplanade all complete with winding pathways, trails, shaded benches & seating areas surrounded by native Texas landscape.
To top it off, Hazel, Parkview and Hawthorne will house a lake system featuring six lakes, each of which is larger than our current largest lake. All in all, we are adding another 25 acres of lakes and 23 acres of parks and green space to complement our currently existing 132 acres. And as you’ve probably read about, we’re also extending our current hike & bike trail system all the way to Frontier Park, adding more mileage for our residents to stay active and enjoy the outdoors. This trail connection will be finished by the end of October!
Our new park and trail systems are all centered around the idea of bringing our residents closer together as families and as neighbors, and to enjoy an active, outdoor lifestyle which has always been an important theme of Light Farms.
