We learned the wonderful history of the family after whom Boyer Elementary, our second onsite school opening this August, is named. Read on:

(From the Prosper ISD website) Elementary #9, located in the Light Farms development north of Frontier Parkway, will be named Ralph and Mary Lynn Boyer Elementary School. Mr. Boyer served as one of the very first volunteers for the Prosper Fire Department in 1952. He went on to serve as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Corp in WWII flying 25 missions over Germany. Back in Prosper, Mr. Boyer was the Bank President and was elected Mayor in 1969 and again in 1979. Mary Lynn was a PHS graduate in 1939 and also served on the committee for the first Prosper Homecoming. Her chosen vocation was that of a stewardess for American Airlines after attending North Texas State University. Blessed with 63 years of marriage, their two children graduated from PHS with one later teaching in PISD for many years. Three of their six grandchildren graduated from PHS and two great-grandchildren attend Prosper Schools today. The Boyers lifelong civic mindedness and faithful community work through their church helped lay the foundation for the greatness of Prosper today. Boyer Elementary School will open in August 2018.

WOW. What an incredible legacy we have to honor. We are so thrilled in gearing up for Boyer Elementary’s opening and hope this piece of history makes it a little more special for you and your family, as well. Thank you, Boyer family, for your service to our country and community! #boyerelementary #thankyouboyerfamily
